I couldn't agree with you more, v1.23 has been out a while thats why it's very buggy! But the dev's are working on it.

There are some steps you can take, to try avoid crashes etc.

Most important of all at the moment, if your getting steam logon errors then you should check what content you have mounted and unmount everything.

If I get time I may write a little 'connecting to v1.23 server' guide! as it has become quite an art. I haven't mastered the art of explaining this whilst on a server to some poor hopeful who keep getting booted and trying to rejoin. I just can't type an explanation to them quick enough before they are booted again. I think we could do with a one thread comprehensive list of likely errors whilst trying to play.

And the fact you have to join a server via console cause the app id's are all screwed.
Also stuff like when a map changes and you get the message missing maps, but you know the server has fast dl'ing url. Normally on the second attempt it all works out fine.
And many other methods & work-arounds to get up and running.

yes i get the bug (No steam logon) and most of the times i try to re-join and then my computer go black i fink i have a virus arrr after the 24 dec i have to reinstal all
it takes so long time but i will sit try to get on the servers

If you get the No Steam Logon, You need to 'unmount' games like Episode 1, CS:S, DOD:S and Lost Coast in 'Mod Options' within the game's menu screen.
Basically untick/uncheck the boxes.
