This stuff is as old as HL1, all of it has been there since 1998, only difference is they converted the models to the source engine format.

Some of these models would just proberbly used in maps but nothing more than just a passing fad, i mean i would like to see the flying ailens / ailen bats, because i have just abut had enough of evil seagulls haha :P
