Battlefield 2 Patch 1.5

This game is quite old and I used to play it a lot. However it always had problems and nobody really thought EA would actually put out a patch for it post BF2142. However, recently this was posted:

It appears that they are making the two booster packs, Euro Force and Armored Fury, completely free to all Bf2 owners. This along with a bunch of balance updates listed on the link.

For those of you who haven't played Battlefield 2, I created a quick guide to help you understand it's gameplay:

Howver hopefully this patch should change some of that. :P

So has anyone here played Bf2? The squad system in it as absolutely genius and makes teamwork practical in a pub-server environment. I had a lot of fun with it on teamwork heavy servers like the tactical-gamer clan's before they moved to stuff like Project Reality. I curious as to how active the community is, as I've lost my cd key for it a while ago and was wondering if it still has an active playerbase to make it worth it to buy another copy.

Wasn't that the game I went Solo in and killed everyone on the other team from behind?

I played alot of bf42 and bf2. I was in BFSS: Battlefield Stunts Server.

It was very fun times, i usually wouldnt play normal combat, just go in stunt server and do aerial stunts.

Good times! i remember when we were making this one: (non original audio, guns n roses was blocked by youtube)

Fug, DesertCombat, blackhawk pilot, scud missile base raper.

I heard bf2 dumb'd down the helicopter flying skills, shame. bf2 was really a remake of what DesertCombat was, with all the stats promotions thrown in.
