Yep,
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$origin

Just remeber to decompile with dont fix animations checked (applies mainly to viewmodels). And you'll probably need to add

Code: Select all

$origin 0 5 0 -90
(the 5 would be to move the weapon further away from the player and the -90 to get the weapon back to original position).

I was going to write some tutorials for getting hl2 rigged weapons into scripted weapons for oc, I've learn't alot about modifying weapons just with qc commands and hexeditor work (for those that want to contribute more but cant model, like myself).

Edit: best way to check if weapon is same position as original, is by how they are positioned in HLMV or when you center screen on the model.

I think we're ready to start on the dual version. Yes?

Maybe,Key,maybe. But I would say that you need to improve those anims a bit,for example, after you stopped shooting, the uzi automatically entered in idle mode in only...erm..let's say 0.5 seconds, now that is way a bit to fast, maybe slow it down by 1 second or two.

The shoot anims looks realistic and great but, just little tiny bit of robotic for some reason :S

I'm not a modeler nor a animator, just sayin' in where you should improve of.

i can't animate at all, but yeah the hand movements are strange looking, for example how he clenches his fist for a bit before grabbing the magazine, and also the magazine going in is too fast for me lol
the second point is a matter of opinion though

It's a WIP. I'm very aware of it's flaws, guys. I will most likely extend its idle animation so that it doesn't turn to the right until after a few seconds. The main point of the video is to show the progress. Starting on the dual version is necessary now because the idle position is likely to be final.

Yeah, I can see the origins being final, you are already aware of the flaws so It's good to see those being worked on, overall for a first animation this is pretty good and A LOT better than how I began.

Then again, starting with an ACR may not have been the best choice, eh oh well. Looking forward to more progress. In the mean-time, I gotta do some work in 3ds Max so I can stay in tune for when the duals are ready for me to work on.

@ Key; Not greatly fond of how often he moves it or how far, it's like he's drunk. I shoot guns quite often(shotgun, pistol and rifle in a match at least once a month), I know when idling I don't stand there constantly swinging my gun around(though then again I don't ever shoot from the hip). Very smooth though, not anything really wrong with the "idling" or "firing" animation it's self.

I know you said it was a WIP, but just giving my input.

I think they look good until he pulls back the trigger.

Looks like it has "ticks" when he/she pulls out the mag and when he/she pulls out the trigger.
