Theres no point in having portals in oc.

Except the first 30 "YAYYYY" minutes, its useless.

and dont forget how expensive the portals are to render, even in the small portal maps my fps sometimes droped below 20, using portals in a big, detailed oc map will result in unplayable fps.

I would like a brush based low detali portal, personally, but that's probably asking too much XD

i really disagree with you, this could make for some really ingenius map ideas, provided if their combined with the typical "kill shit" game play in my opinion

Sure, now try programming source to render more than two portals at once without any fps / latency issue.

For Obsidian, Portal stuff should be used ONLY with portal maps, for portal coop. There would be no reason for other mods to implement portals unless they were doing a Portal MP mod.
