Yeah, they can do something completely unnecessary and stupid. oh wait haha silly me look at that they did. Tbh it was all executed very poorly. They could've acted like a grown up corporation instead of 6 year old who just had his favorite toy stolen.

I should note found both using SteamStats and removing items gain with it equally stupid.

What are these "Items", are they rewards? or are they something Valve just give to anyone they feel like?

Ether way, Valve is the boss if it's games, if you don't like the way to play, then don't play to game.

As you play you randomly unlock weapons over time. Well someone created a program that tricks steam into thinking they are playing and gives them items even when they aren't. VALVe decided to shut this down and remove all the items that were gained using this program, and now the program users are angry.
