How Do You Configure Hammer for Obsidian Conflict?

Need Help? The Day isnt going so well on the Mapping front?

Launch the sdk and select Obsidian from the drop down menu at the bottom. Making sure before hand that your launch options were configured the way above, all should be fine.

Ney worry,

When you dble click on your sourcesdk in steam tools and when it loads you have the menu for hammer model viewer etc,etc at the bottom of that box is a dropdown menu where you can choose which mod or game to run. You should see obsidian at the bottom

OK I have just about had it with this mod!

Everything was going along just peachy until SDK came out the "Orange box" update...now somethings work some don't I had 3 month invested in a map, and now it's crap, unless I can get the damn thing (HAMMER) to work. So this is my last attempt to get it to work.

This is what I have done, PLEASE someone tell me what I did wrong!

1. on the Source SDK icon i added -engine ep1 "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -engine ep1 -applaunch 211

2. I added the ep1 into the path of the VVIS VBSP and the VRAD (see SS)

3. I edit the gameconfig.txt (THE ONE IN \sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin)

You can't run the game from hammer, it just doesn't work. Tell it to not run the game after compile and start the game separately.

Truly Sir you are "The Man"!

Now to fix the main problem and I think it's a hammer setting, all I get in camera view is wire frame as seen in this ss.

How do I switch it back to the texture mode (or whatever)?

Go to view and pic 3d textured polygons or 3d shaded polygons, which ever you prefer.

Also the props you have been adding need some attention, i.e some that you have made prop_static should be prop_dynamic etc, etc.
Normally when you compile if you get it wrong the prop you placed will not show in game.

And here is the problem....I have done that
"3d textured polygons and 3d shaded polygons" I tried both, no change!
and when I try to select an entity in the map using the wireframe model, hammer crashes.

I will try to reinstall hammer.

Not that I think anyone could be as dumb as I was, but let me tell you where I FU... the gameinfo.txt
In folder C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\nakedgijoe\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin was NOT the one I updated with "ep1\bin\"

so yes the Source SDK shortcut should have the ..."C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 211 -engine ep1

and the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\nakedgijoe\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\gameconfig.txt should have the ep1\bin\ added to the VVIS VBSP and VRAD

and ofcourse have hammer setup as I have in the above screen shots, and you should be OK.
