Well the fox made oc_wgh bits were based off of hl1.
Hopefully more parts will be remade. A shame that we can't use BMS maps.

Answer to question, yes im a starter to and im learning the wonders(and horrors) of hammer.
Are you sure he is a starter? Maybe he have only had a pause in mapping.
I have about a year's experience. Still learning lots.
well the way he said it made me do a logical assumtsion(me spelling not good) that he started mapping just now. If he would have said "i will start mapping again" or something like that i wouldnt have made that comment to cheered for my fellow forummember.
EDIT: but the best way to settle this is if he would say if he is a beginner or a old chap rediscovering childhood fantasyies
