The last one never had a part 2.
Though that's if you are making an application, not something like a mod.

Where as you need only include the python header file.

That stuf will show you how to make it read python scipts from a certain directory etc.

With a scripting language it would be much more of a community based mod, because right now we always have to ask the devs when we want a new function, but with a scripting language we could do most of it by ourself.
And if you havent noticed, skidz and hyperjag dont have much time to work on the mod, so thats another good reason to add a scripting language.

I'm still neutral, but I noticed FF were considering adding support for it.
I have to say It's all very controversial, where ever I read about it :)

But W0rf0x is wise and makes a valid point.
I noticed the request thread gets more and more by the day.
The requests keep coming in, skidz and hyper must be going just a little dizzzy!

.Lua is used in many ways and may games.

Homeworld 2 uses it.

Dawn of War uses it.

Etc.

I'd say .Lua for scripted weapons only. Because in GM10 I've seen people use scripts to hack etc. So Serverside only.

There easy ways to fix that im too busy to work at the YaS libery but once its done you will see if you do it right you cant hack and by the way gamemodes has scriptenforcer and sandbox can have some function tweaks to pervent hacking so dont worry about that ;)

Yes. Hell yes.
Just want to say that i made a dynamic skill script using Mattie's eventscript plugin, its a nice alternative to lua.
1-2 Players = Skill1
2-4 Players = Skill2
5-6 Players = Skill3
Thats how i set it up on my server.

and i got today someone who will wirte for me the lua implementation :P and writeing a object orianted thing instead of writeing into a text files that uses KeyValueTables isnt that good i dont see that way much used at gmod and thats good but ok matties event script should be a thing until a lua plugin or implementation direct by the game is made :P

What about that time me and fug spent like half an hour on Broken Escape trying to get past the damn strider, difficulty 1 my ass :wink:

I had skill 3 enabled on my server for a while, untill i found out that some maps are way too hard on skill 3, you probably played with him when skill 3 was enabled, because it isnt very hard on skill 1.
and yes, i also played broken escape on skill 3, ep1 striders + skill 3 = nearly impossible

lua is good things to make new maps new weapons.you know i'm talking about.
also,it has more creative for mappers.
