meh is using GF 6600 GT, running hl2 all on max with FPS allways above 40. Depending on the map/scenario it might go over 100 or drop under 40. Im fine with this, so untill i start playing another game than hl2 i think im sticking with the 6600..
But about your pool, NVIDIA FTW!

My computer guy said:*ATI?Pfff, cest de la marde!

I have a Radeon x1950 256mb for 1/2 price because it was returned twice because they both didn't have the right mother bored or power supply
I'd have to say to go with ATi (or Sapphire i had a x700 from them, worked better then my dad's x850) I've been using radeon since the 9550 and I love it. I get 40-50 FPS in HL2 and 40-45 with Fake factories texture pack.
At d1_trainstation_02 if I look straight into the courtyard i get 50-55 FPS and 1280x1024.
Tho if your looking for graphics, I'd say get a Nividia lots of newer games are using features only available on Nividia Cards, any game with the "Nividia: The Way its Meant To Be Played" has graphic features that only run well on N cards.
Example Hitman: Blood Money, shadows and glows only work well on N cards, and ATi Cards the glows and shadows go threw objects.

Yea I remember this game. I have had an ATI card and it was great, and now I have a Nvidia. They are both great cards. Just like Intel and AMD, its a back and forth thing but I have no preference. Whoever provides the greatest performance at the time of upgrading wins for me.
