Half-Life 2: Episode 2 delayed until Q1 of 2007

Valve's Doug Lombardi sat down for a great interview with Eurogamer at Leipzig, and spilled the beans on the release date and price for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. A lot of what he said I was expecting, although it's not exactly great news for fans of the series. First off is the fact that Episode 2 has been pushed back into early 2007. Oh my.
...it's just sort of classic Valve being overly aggressive on our dates. But we're aiming for Q1 right now and we're really far along in the playtest stage. You know, our thing is always that we're trying to make really good experiences and so we're going to manage to that rather than the schedule.
I can get behind that. If Episode 2 is half as good as Episode 1, I'll be happy. The other issue is that this package will cost more. You'll be able to buy Half-Life 2 plus Episodes 1 and 2 for the price of a full retail game, or you can buy the package with Episode 2 that includes Team Fortress 2 and Portal for a price that's between "Episode 1 and full price." While I'm never going to be happy about a price increase, I think the Team Fortress 2 and Portal content will make this worth our money. That's a lot of gaming, and pricing it somewhere between $20 and $50 gives them a lot of leeway over where they would ultimately like to set the price; I'm hoping for $30 myself.

Since Quarter 1 ends with March, I'm gonna guess they announce a March 31 release date, and actually wind up releasing April 17th. That's my offical guess, so write it down and be amazed when I'm totally psychic.
I agree

Im pretty sure its the PS3's fault. EA were in charge of porting the source engine over to the PS3. Valve finished getting it over to the 360 awhile back. So the only thing that could be delaying it is the PS3 version.
