Well I have some news for me, I will be learning C++ and programming very soon, I have recently bought my own 3D engine, and will be working on it for the next 5 years. I am aiming for Futuristic BF2 type with more freerun and openess. It will be a super textured game with many detail and light. I will also be learing modeling, mapping, animations, buisness, ect...

Just letting you all know D:

You've bought an engine or have you licensed an engine?

it's not free if you want to make a commerical product with it.

In the event you wanted to go commerical with a source mod you'd have to be a licensee of the source engine.

What's the name of this engine?
I swear to god if you say OGRE i'm going to hunt you down and gut you. Then feed you to...um....The Norwegians. For no particular reason.
(I'm saving up to buy Unreal Engine 2, since the coding although C++ is much easier to use since you can imbed nearly all scripting languages into it.
:D)

Hey, OGRE is the way to go. Buying a game engine just too realize you cant possibly do everything alone is not a smart way to go.

I'd imagine that it would be pretty expensive to license the the Unreal 2 engine for developing a commercial release.

Why not use the Quake 3 engine? Carmack made the source code freely available under the GPL license last year:
