K-ON! player models

Hi everyone.

I've just recently ported these models to L4D2 and I figured they'd be right up the OC community's alley.

Now I'm willing to give converting these to OC a shot myself, but as you may notice from the screenshots, I'm only only a beginner to rigging so they are a little bit messed up (particularly the hands), and I'm not sure how to do a good ragdoll either.

So if anyone with more experience with this wants to give it a go first that would be cool.

The L4D2 addon file is here (extractable with gcfscape) and I can also provide the meshes in .3ds/fbx/smd if anyone's interested.

Thanks :)

Ohhh. So you are who ported the models into L4D2?. Interesting.

Ok, this is your place. We´ll help you.

If you have some doubts about rigging, follow this tutorial: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php ... Ragdolling

P.D: Interesting that in minus of 24h that Keychain posted in the "VALVe videogames pics" showing these skins, you are coming to OC Forums.

I've been a fan of OC for a fair while, just never bothered signing up to the forums. :)

The models basically spread across the web overnight (I didn't actually mean for that to happen, but there you go) so I figured now would be as good a time as any to bring it up here.

I'd love to get a hold of the .max files to fix their rigging and get them ready for the next anime model pack update, also want to try to add jigglebones.

Also, I'd love to hear about your way to port MMD models.

Roger, i'll up them ASAP.

As for the porting:

Convert the .pmd to .mqo using pmd2mqo

Import the .MQO to max (plugin works with Max 9 only) using mqo import (.lzh is just a zip)

and you'll have to delete various included extra faces for MMD.

The plugin only work with 9, or with 2010 too? I want "accelerate" the porting of MMD models.

Ok, max files for all 5 models with textures included.

The only changes to the meshes themselves I made since conversion from PMD were to remove their instruments (which would have served no purpose) and their tongues/teeth inside the heads, because they had a habit of being visible from time to time in l4d2.

Wheezle, you've done what I have wanted (and countlessly tried) to do for a ridiculously long time. I applaud you for that. I've gotten as far as to import .PMD files into 3DS Max, but the rigging part was what kept stopping me. I definitely look forward to your future work.

So does this mean we might be able to get a shit ton of MMD models for OC?

Precisely. Just need people who are willing to rig that shit ton of MMD models. I'm starting to try rigging again, so I'm hoping within the next few months I'll be able to push out at least one player model or two. Don't let Link know (hell, he'll find out since he reads this stuff but who cares), but I'm gonna devote more time to this stuff than of animating~
