Ya won't miss them if you own the original game like most steam users do.
Well at least Bill, Francis, Louis, and Zoey are all safe with the Military.
We will know if they are safe when valve finishes the mini-campaign series which continues the current campaigns.(my theory: after the mini-campaigns, valve makes a full campaign with them inside the military base and the survivors need to find an escape vehicle)

You must be blind or something because I've seen just about all rescue vehicles.
Dead Center you drive a sports car out of the mall, Dark Carnival is said to be a chopper, Swamp Fever is Virgil the boat owner, Hard Rain is also Virgil because he drops you off there and picks you back up, and The Parish is another chopper.
Oh and it would be interesting if there was a driving sequence with the sports car (considering the stories being connected) where the first person who got into the escape vehicle would drive.

Destiny: Yes, most cars are 2 seaters, but some aren't. Only example I can really think about right now is Mazda RX-8 (2 main doors, and 2 back doors that can open once front doors are open).
