env_cubemap help

Well i was making my map and all looked okay .. tho maybe a little dark.. so i decided to place env_cubemaps to see if i could fix the problem... Heres what i get:

This is looking horrible.... anyone know how to fix or have a tutorial that explains cubemapping on LARGE OPEN areas?

Do you have HDR in that map?

It looks like HDR with regards to the sand.

The wall on the right could also use improvement. Try http://forum.interlopers.net/viewtopic.php?t=1838 for some info on creating displacement cliffs.

And make sure your environmental lighting is set appropriately. :)

Some of those textures just don't turn out well with HDR cubemaps. It might be the textures vmt with a lack of HDR information to tone down those overbright pixels.

That just looks like the cubemaps aren't bulit to me. You did build them and restart the map, didn't you?

No, theres no HDR.

Yes, ive restarted the map.

Yes, Light_environment is set properly.

So, you do have cubemaps in the map, you have properly set up light_environment, you don't have HDR, you've built the cubemaps, you've restarted the map and it still doesn't work? Leaks? Do you have any leaks? :?

No leaks (no pointfile).

But well i tried changing up the texture and it looked fairly better. Then i tried finding better skybox/light settings... played around for 5 hrs... And here i proudly show you the result:
