oc_pvp_turnbased

Nothing major, just one of my experiments that I thought might be fun.

Each turn lasts 5 seconds, you can do one thing per turn - either move one square in one direction, or shoot three squares in one direction. Shooting happens after moving, so you have to predict where they will move to on the next turn.

edit: whoops, ignore the thing at the top of the first image, pasted it into paint without thinking.

I think something is corrupt, perhaps in the download? the file size is something like 359,744 kb?

Also have you packed .cfg files into the map? Probably best if you include seperately?

Thats 357,744 BYTES.

There is no cfg file (the pvp aspect doesn't use teamplay), only custom things are the move/fire textures that are pakratted in.

It works fine on a lan but I can't seem to connect to it on my server, it says map differs, I first tried to download from the server fast dl, and then I tried installing a fresh copy to my client and still no joy.

Hmm, weirdly enough I get the map differs thing too, are you sure it downloaded properly from filefront?

Maybe its angry that its got an oc_vs_ prefix but isn't technically a teamplay map?

75kb .rar

bsp = 352 KB extracted. If I click properties it reads size = 351 (359,774 bytes).

size on disk = 352 KB (350,448 bytes).

I downloaded twice.

I wouldn't of thought the prefix would make a difference. Weird indeed, I think its something to do with my server? Also you used info_player_deathmatch not info_player start, right?

Sorted sourcemod out, re-added the new map (to server and fast dl url) but same result. I'll restart the server without the fast dl url and see?

Tried, failed, perhaps I'd better let someone else test on their server before I continue, so you know its not a server issue.

P.s. liked the game play idea, though got a bit confused with the turns as the counter is constantly running,
seemed like the fire part of the turn has a bit of a delay.

Damn want to play with somebody else asap!

The fire thing is supposed to have a delay, fires half way through the turn so that movement happens before firing :P

Same deal here. Map differs. Uploaded it uncompressed (un-bz2'd) same deal after deleteing client version.

Strange stuff. Just can't connect.
