Striders warp cannon
Striders warp cannon
Anyone know how to stop the strider warp cannon from shooting throught walls past line of sight? I've tried tool textures like npc clip and clip and they didn't work.

It's kinda annoying, you can be in cover in the area where the strider is and it won't fire the cannon till it see's you. which is cool, but once it does,.. unless you got a quick reaction, plenty off health/hev and a blessing form the all mighty. It's curtains....
I'm thinking may be just lesson the amount of times the cannon Is activated, and I'm hoping when the map Is released that players will have to bite the bullet in order to distract the strider so others can get into position...?
I'm gonna try some creative hint brushing as well, the strider dosent shoot into unvisable vis leafs.
Also a quick question: There Is a model trash can under ithink maps/cleanup, is it ok to use this model? Is it an official obsidian model?

Ok, Indeed they seem to have a fail safe. I been doing alot of checking using strider_show_cannonlos 1 and it would seem so
I checked out someone else's map and they have a trigger/target thing going on. I couldn't really see that working in my map. So I've come up with a compromise. It will use it's minigun most of the time until it reaches half health it basically bites back and you die (which you can achieve 3 times with the rocket launcher before the strider dies). So 3 cannon shots 3 frags the rest of time minigun. It sounds like a big compromise but with the nature of the map I'm hoping you'll be thankful its not any harder (cover is difficult enough to reach).
