Generally pretty easy and straight forward if you have one of the popular bittorrent clients like utorrent, it has a feature for making torrents, all you need is a tacker address and the file you want to make the torrent out of.Neico wrote:i've never got around to learn how to make them

Now I need to find a good time to download the 680MB file.
By the way, didn't you say you would open the requests forum after this release?

you can use mine, the address you would use would be http://cartman-2000.ath.cx:8080/announce
I'd need to get the torrent file to upload to my tracker for it to be authorized on the tracker.

well yes, most web host ToS agreements forbid you from running trackers, although they don't use much in terms of resources(5k peers only uses maybe 10-20kB/s of bandwidth.), so it's easiest to run a "home" hosted tracker.shiftey wrote:home server?cartman-2000 wrote:you can use mine, the address you would use would be http://cartman-2000.ath.cx:8080/announce

oh and the hl2 update did cause some problems, valve did recompile some of the maps to have hdr so if you have the old maps, you'll get a differs error until you get the new maps uploaded to your server. I wonder though, can OC load the .lmp files(entity file) that they have for the maps they updated the entities in?.
