Half-Life 2 Mods for Dummies

Post by Fane447 »

First off, great mod! me and a few of my friends have been playing a map or two every day and i tried getting people to come try it out and make mods from FPSBannana but no-one seemed interested :S

Anyway, after seeing you had a limited number of maps i thought i would start learning to map again to help out and i came across this book.

This is a new book out about how to make mods (mostly how to make maps) and i found it pretty useful and even has some information for advanced users.
For more info go to
http://www.amazon.com/Half-Life-Mods-Du ... 350&sr=8-1

Also if you want an ebook version to see if it would be useful to you then go to http://www.flyingcowstudios.co.uk/Half_ ... ummies.zip
(Its in PDF format and its the full book, without the CD)

I seriously recommend buying/downloading/reading this book. It has lots of great information on mapping and a little on modding.

It's especially notable because it includes my Portal Challenge minimod for Garry's Mod 9! (page 315, and you can download the package here: http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/Hal ... iMod;68277 )

:D :D Page 315!! :D :D
